Boating on ocean is different than the lake.I see many pontoons but are they seaworthy?I had a 24′ on the lake

On bay water they seem to do fine but what about open water? In a 3' sea the bigger v hulls struggle so how do pontoons do?I've had alake house for years and we have a 24' pontoon,19' ski boat,small fishing boat, and a trhree seater Bombadier. The larger v hulls are all I see in the open ocean like going out for a fihing trip.Any experienced seagoers out there?
