is there a advantage to wake boarding if your boat does not have the rail like those new boats?

my dad boat is a tiny boat for fishing
n the new boats now in days r big n they have a rail thing n we dont so is there a advantage to that. because i never got up
so how the new boats the rope is high
for us its low
