Our Bassett Hounds got my dads rubber cement all in their fur… their ears especially.How can we get it out?!?

Dad was putting carpet on our pontoon boat and being careless and boneheaded left it out where our dogs got it into their fur & other than cutting it out, we're not sure how to remove it. Help!
