Rod + Reel setup for DEEP pier fishing?? something to handle the biggest stuff at the bottom of the piers?

specifically for the Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Huntington Beach, CA piers

something that can handle sharks, big bat rays, and that would be able to handle the big boys when i go out boat fishing? thanks and god bless
