True life story.
I supervise a group of 12 people. Most of these folks are average people. No matter what color they are, you honestly can’t tell what political part of the spectrum most of these folks believe in to hear them talk. Except for two.
Names have been changed to protect the innocent. I won't mention race either. I'm sure you can figure it out on your own. I asked in an earlier question about whether libs actually invest any of their earnings. Or do they just spend their money on BS stuff.
Darnell is one of my techs that has worked here for around 6 years. He makes a decent wage, $18 an hour, and really has no bills to speak of so he says.
He whines all the time about "them rich folks", and "the only folks the Bush tax cuts helped were rich folks".
Chris has worked here for about 4 years. He makes around $17 an hour. Again, for the area market and skill levels, this is a decent wage.
He says the same thing about, "those rich folks" and "that’s why I vote democrat, they help those that don't make as much”.
At the end of last year, we were open to elections to participate in our 401K program. I explained to them that it is tax deferred until such time you withdraw it. I also explained to them that in some cases, if you get the percentages right, you can actually bring home more money per pay period, and still be saving. That’s how mine works.
Darnell said he wanted his money now, not sitting in some account somewhere. Besides he said. He couldn’t afford it. That afternoon I watched him drive out going home, noticing his wheels, that he mentioned a few months earlier, had cost almost 5K.
Chris pretty much said the same thing about the 401K. A couple of hours later he was talking about a pontoon boat he had just bought for $6000.00 and that it was steal. It needed some work, but hey, now he has a boat.
I guess $5000.00 wheels and a $6000.00 boat are more important than making sure that your only income when you retire is SS.
Yes, both of these guys are LIBS if you couldn’t tell.

Nope. They are just the only two liberals in my department. All the other guy's joined or have already been 401K members.
Oh yeah, the rest of my department is conservative or Independent. I just didn't feel the need to mention that. I thought you just might be able to figure that out on your own.
