When a liver is swollen from alcohol abuse do you think it is heavier or lighter than a healthy one?

I was at the lake over the Memorial day weekend with a bunch of friends we were hanging out on a pontoon boat partying when our friend Jimmy fell overboard I think I was the only one who noticed but did nothing because I assumed that his liver would serve as a good floatation device apparently this was not the case.
